CALL FOR ABSTRACTS »

The SAWEA Conference Program Committee is soliciting for presenters to speak in the technical sessions at the Water Arabia 2020 Conference & Exhibition. You are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity to:

  • Elevate your exposure on an international platform
  • Propose interesting ideas to an audience of professionals, regulators, and decision-makers
  • Share your valuable experiences for the benefit of others in the Kingdom
  • Educate others about issues facing the region’s water and wastewater industry

If your abstract is selected, you will be assigned 20 minutes to present on your topic plus your paper and 10 minutes for Questions and Answers. Your presentation slides will also be published on the SAWEA website. SAWEA encourages, but does not require, a formal paper to be submitted prior to the Conference. Please prepare and submit your abstract(s) according to the instructions below.

Abstract Guidelines

1 – Practicality:

The abstract should deal with new concepts or novel applications of established concepts that meet the water & wastewater treatment or conveyance needs of the Gulf Region..

2 - Status of Project or Idea:

Establish that the technology or case study is well developed.

3 - Technical Content:

State the objectives and scope of the technology or case study.

4 - Benefits and Significance:

Demonstrate actual benefits or applicability across the Gulf Region.

5 - Quality:

Prepare with care, paying attention to style, organization of the abstract, and accuracy of data presented.

Abstract Submission Format Requirements

Abstracts are limited to a maximum of three double-spaced pages of text in 12-point Arial font, including bibliography. Up to three additional pages of supporting tables and graphics may be included. At the top of the abstract, please include:

  • Title
  • Author name(s), affiliation(s), e-mail address(es), and physical address(es)
  • Brief biography of presenter (100 words or less)

How to Submit Your Abstract

  • Complete your abstract(s) in MS Word in compliance with the above formatting requirements.
  • Sign and scan in Adobe PDF the Copyright Transfer Form (CTF).
  • Email both documents to the:

  • All abstracts and CTFs must be submitted by the extended date of December 15, 2019.No late submittals will be considered.

All speakers must register for the Conference and are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses during the Conference. Thank you for your interest.
